Train takes 24 days from Hebei to Paris
With its European partner Forwardis, which is part of French SNCF Group, Russian provider Trans Container has arranged the first dispatch of a train from China to France via Svisloch – Siemianowka crossing at the Belarus – Poland border.
Fifty containers loaded with consumer goods were transported from Shijiazhuang (Hebei province, China) to Paris. The route passed through Mongolia, then via the Trans-Siberian railway and Belarus, where the containers were transshipped and made their way to Paris by 1,435 gauge.
The total transit time is 24 days. Trans Container provided its own flatcars and made arrangements for transportation from Mongolia to Poland via 1,520 gauge. Forwardis organised the European part of the route. (ben)
