Training takes flight
Lufthansa Cargo is developing a virtual-reality training programme for aircraft loading supervisors, and is set to launch its first module in October 2025.
The carrier aims to modernise qualification processes by offering immersive, realistic training scenarios that can be accessed independently of operations. The VR platform will allow staff to practise communication, safety protocols and handling procedures with heightened focus and retention.
"This technology allows us to train our employees in a practical manner while ensuring the highest safety and efficiency standards," said Frankfurt station manager Momo Ruzic.
Lufthansa Cargo is among the first in the industry to adopt VR for this purpose. The solution promises faster, more cost-efficient and eco-friendly training delivery, further cementing the carrier’s role as a digitalisation pioneer in airfreight. (ah)
