Transport platform for broader economic development

Gulf, Gadsden, Liberty, and Franklin, four counties in Florida (USA), have established the Gulf to Gadsden freight logistics zone (FLZ). The aim is to enable freight transportation and infrastructure services to become a platform for broader economic development.

The counties share a common transportation asset in the Apalachicola Northern Railway, owned by St Joe Company and operated by a subsidiary of G&W.

The railroad connects the port of Port St Joe in Gulf County with the CSX class I railroad in Gadsden County, thereby providing for the movement of goods across the nation. (ben)
