Triangular traffic between four countries

TX Logistik (TXL) has launched an international triangular service for intermodal transport. The train will connect Romania, Austria, Italy, and Germany initially once a week and twice weekly from 18 April 2023.

Compared to normal round trips between two destinations, the triangular concept connects the terminals in Curtici (Romania), Hall in Tirol (Austria), Verona (Italy) and Duisburg (Germany) with one-way relations.

The new train is also the first intermodal connection between Romania and Italy. The trips start and end in the Arad Railport in Curtici. Traction on the nearly 4,000 km long triangular rail link is handled by TXL, while the Hungarian railway company Gysev takes over in Hungary and the Romanian section. (ben)
