TST makes room for animal food

Animal food producer Nestlé Purina Petcare is concentrating its logistics operations for the German market in the new distribution centre that logistics provider TST hat set up in Worms (Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany).

The 52,000 sqm multi-user real estate came on stream at the end of May this year. With a storage capacity of up to 100,000 pallets, the TST building provides space for the around 600 articles of its customer's product portfolio.

The distribution centre is in an ideal geographical location at the centre of goods flows and also a pivotal hub for value added logistics services such as display assembly or repackaging activities, which shall be automated in the near future, the company said.

TST has invested roughly EUR 42 million in the facility, which was built based on TST's concept by planning partner pbb Solutions and construction company Goldbeck. (mw)
