Two Air Transat A330-200 to fly for GTA Air Cargo

Montreal (Canada)-based leisure carrier Air Transat will convert two of its A330-200s into makeshift freighters for use on behalf of GTA Air Cargo, the newest company of the GTA Group.

Mario D'Urso, the chairman of the Canadian logistics firm's parent, GTA dnata, said via linkedin: "Our two companies have reached an ACMI agreement for two, soon to be reconfigured, Air Transat aircraft. The first stage will focus on flights from China and other countries in the Far East. Phase two will incorporate additional routes and destinations. I want to thank Air Transat for its collaboration on this project and I look forward to seeing these aircraft take to the skies."

Air Transat currently operates sixteen A330-200. GTA dnata is a cargo and ground handling joint venture between GTA Aviation and UAE-based dnata. (ah)
