U-Freight marks Shenzhen milestone
The U-Freight Group has marked the 25th anniversary of its Shenzhen office, one of the company’s first sites in mainland China. Since its opening in 2000, the office has developed from a small start-up into a regional gateway handling air, ocean and overland freight, as well as e-commerce logistics. Chief executive officer Simon Wong noted that more than 60% of the Shenzhen team has been with the company for over a decade, underlining its culture of staff retention.
According to the company the office has played a key role in cross-border e-commerce development in South China and the Greater Bay Area, following the group’s 2013 expansion into this sector. Today, the oceanfreight department in Shenzhen has grown from two employees into a hub for full container load and less than container load services in the Pearl River Delta. (js)
