Unifeeder connects port of Cork

A new container service now calls at the port of Cork from Southampton. Shortsea operator Unifeeder launched the connection via the Southampton hub to and from the ports of Cork, Belfast and Dublin.

The lift-on lift-off (lo-lo) service offers importers and exporters a route to market with fixed weekday schedules.

Conor Mowlds, the chief commercial officer of the port of Cork said: "We're delighted Unifeeder has chosen Cork as its southern gateway to the Irish market."

Unifeeder's global feeder CCO Martin Gaard Christiansen added: "The service to the Irish Sea is run as a weekly fixed-weekday service and we expect to include Dublin on the route soon." (cd)
