Vaccines from Belgium distributed in South Korea

Last week, UPS transported the first Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccines to South Korea. A fleet of trucks lined up at Seoul Incheon airport to handle the shipments after landing.

The vaccines, which require ultra-cold chain storage, were packed in Belgium for their journey, and driven to storage centres in South Korea after landing, with temperatures and quality controls maintained throughout the trip. They will now be administered to healthcare workers and others deemed most at risk.

UPS Korea’s managing director Doyoung Kim said that "the deliveries represent the culmination of public-private partnerships to move our world forward." UPS International president Scott Price called the task "one of the most important deliveries in our 33-year history in the Asia-Pacific region." (ah)
