Vaccines to Greenland

Air Transport International (ATI), a passenger and cargo airline headquartered in Wilmington OH (USA), has expanded its wide-body freighter fleet by taking delivery of a B767-300ERF.

Last month, the subsidiary of the Air Transport Services Group, which also works for the US army, was involved in supplying Thule Air Base in Greenland with the first shipment of Moderna Covid-19 vaccines.

As the USA's northernmost base, located only 1,200 km from the Arctic Circle, Thule doesn't have normal supply chain access like other bases. This turned the critical US base into a prime candidate to receive the vaccine.

The 87th Medical Group and the 305th Aerial Port Squadron contributed joint efforts to support joint base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst’s Covid-19 vaccine shipment to Greenland. (ah)
