VNL spotlights logistics trends
At this year’s Logistik-Forum Kärnten in Pörtschach, the Association for Supply Chain Management (VNL) brought together representatives of the industry to discuss logistics solutions amid turbulent times. Under the theme "Zukunftsfähige Logistik", the event spotlighted the role of artificial intelligence (AI), alongside geopolitical uncertainties and Austria’s ongoing economic stagnation.
Speakers from Infineon or Fundermax emphasised how digitisation, strategic procurement and resilient supply chains are vital for competitiveness. Klaus Weyerstrass (IHS) warned of a third consecutive year of economic contraction in Austria, with rising unemployment despite ongoing labour shortages. Meanwhile, Infineon’s Silke Sorger underlined the need for agility and flexibility. (js)
