Waberer’s grows in Hungarian intermodal sector
The forwarder Waberer’s has acquired a 62.5% stake of the railfreight operator Gysev Cargo and intends in a second step to increase its stake to 70%. Gysev is Hungary's second-largest rail transportation service provider and offers services in Hungary directly and through its 100% Austrian subsidiary, Raaberbahn Cargo.
Waberer’s investment in Gysev further strengthens its Hungarian and regional rail logistics capabilities. With the purchase of the stake the company can now provide long-distance rail transport services in Romania, Hungary and Austria with its own railway fleet. It now also has access to rail terminals in Szeged, Debrecen and Sopron, on the western border of Hungary. (ben)
