Wärtsilä and MPA Singapore sign MoU

Wärtsilä, a global provider of innovative technologies and lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). The aim of this partnership is to enable the introduction of next generation renewable fuels, optimise digital port operations, and develop future talent.

For Kenneth Lim, assistant chief executive (industry and transformation), MPA, “Singapore is at the heart of marintech innovation and at an exciting phase for the potential introduction of maritime fuels such as methanol, hydrogen and its derivatives such as ammonia.”

AI-based monitoring, tracking, and incident response will be used to ensure reliable, secure, and cost-effective data exchanges between vessels and the port and thus make port operations more efficient.
