Warsaw airport expands cargo handling facilities


Warsaw airport, which, according to ACI Europe, handled 89,000 t of air freight in the first eleven months of last year, a 4.9% increase compared to the same period of 2018, has expanded and upgraded its cargo handling capacities.

 

Welcome Airport Services, one of Poland’s largest handling agents with six locations across the country, inaugurated a new facility on the airport this month.

 

The Welcome cargo terminal features 2,860 sqm of warehousing space, including a cold storage facility for temperatures down to -24°C and separate halls for valuable (VAL) and radioactive (RRY) shipments as well as live animals (AVI). The terminal also rents out office space to third parties. (ah)
