Weekly container trains to connect Trieste with Budapest

Rail Cargo Hungaria (RCH) has launched a new scheduled service of four pairs of container trains per week between the Italian deepwater port of Trieste and Budapest in Hungary.

The first train consisting of 20 wagons brought machines, vehicle parts, electronic devices and items of clothing from Asia to Budapest, and transported goods from the food and plastics industry, as well as machine parts, on the return journey back to the Adriatic port.

The company plans to triple the number of trains from the northern Italian port from mid-December. The volume of transported goods from other Adriatic ports also increased significantly in less than a month. RCH has therefore added two more pairs of import trains per week between the Rail Cargo Terminal - BILK in Hungary and the ports of Koper (Slovenia), Rijeka (Croatia) and Piraeus (Greece). (ben)
