WHL launches CI8
Wan Hai Lines (WHL), founded in 1965 with a focus on Taiwan, Japan and Southeast Asia, is extending its intra-Asia and West India network by launching a new weekly service between South China – Vietnam and West India (China West India Nr.8/ CI8).
The service will be operated by WHL independently and is composed of four container vessels with a capacity of 2,100 teu each. Ports of call will be: Hong Kong, Guangzhou (Nansha), Ho Chi Minh, Port Kelang, Nhava Sheva, Colombo, Port Kelang, Da Nang, Hai Phong and Hong Kong, again.
The service is set to start in Hong Kong on 30 April 2021. Currently, the CI8 will be the sole service in the market offering direct link between Vietnam and West India. (cd)
