With "Archion" big in Japan and Asia
Daimler Truck affiliate Mitsubishi Fuso and Toyota’s Hino Motors have unveiled further details of their planned integration under a new holding company, Archion Corporation, set to begin operations on 1 April 2026.
Headquartered in Tokyo’s Shinagawa Ward, Archion will combine the two brands’ strengths in R&D, production and logistics to streamline operations and accelerate development in electric, hydrogen and autonomous technologies.
Daimler Truck AG and Toyota Motor Corp. will each hold 25% of the new company. Designated CEO Karl Deppen said Archion aims to "deliver the future of commercial mobility," while CFO Hetal Laligi underlined a focus on synergies and benchmark profitability.
The partners plan to consolidate domestic truck production to three sites by 2028 and target a future listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market. (ah)
