Yusen opens 13th logistics hub in Germany

Yusen Logistics has opened a new 24,000 sqm warehouse in Sittensen, near Hamburg, thus strengthening its position in Northern Germany. The new domicile brings the total number of the company’s branches in Germany to thirteen.

The ground breaking ceremony took place in August 2022, and just 7.5 months later, one month ahead of schedule, the state-of-the-art, customised logistics hall was ready for occupancy.

The new contract logistics location was created as part of an internal restructuring process. From 2004 until April 2023, Yusen Logistics Germany operated a contract logistics site with around 30,000 sqm of storage space in the Port of Hamburg.

In order to remain close to the port for smooth container handling in the future, Yusen rented an additional storage area of around 12,000 sqm in Hamburg Hausbruch while the new Sittensen property was being built. The Hamburg Hausbruch location has been in operation since January 2023. (ben)
