ZIM adjusts to congestion

The Haifa-based Israeli carrier Zim is reshuffling its new Asia–Pacific Northwest and Asia–Eastern Mediterranean services. The shipping line’s decision to adjust the loops came in the face of “ongoing port congestion.”

Its Asia–Pacific Northwest route will now be served by a new loop, the Zim North Pacific service (ZNP), whose rotation starts in Kaohsiung and continues to Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Vancouver and again Busan before returning to Kaohsiung.

Zim’s Asia–Eastern Mediterranean link will be served by another new loop, the Zim Med Premium service (ZMP), with its port rotation starting in Busan and continuing to Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Da Chan Bay, Port Kelang, Haifa, Ashdod, Istanbul, Yarimca, Port Kelang, Da Chan Bay and Xiamen before returning to Busan.

Both services, due to commence in April, are operated by Zim on its own. (sh)
