ZIM: best half-year results so far


The shipping group ZIM has published its consolidated results for Q2/2022. Volumes carried went down by 7% year-on-year to 856,000 teu (Q2/2021: 921,000 teu). H1/2020 saw 1.72 million teu handled compared to 1.74 million in H1/2021.

 

The average freight rate per teu over the first six months of 2022 stood at USD 3,722, a rise of 58% compared to the same period in 2021.

 

Adjusted ebitda for Q2/2021 came to USD 2.1 billion, compared to 1.34 billion in Q2/2021 (+52%). Revenues also took a great leap forward, amounting to USD 3.43 billion(+44%).

 

Profit income grew to USD 1.34 billion, a 50% increase compared to the USD 888 million in Q2/2021. ZIM president and CEO Eli Glickman reaffirmed the group's forecast for 2022, ”which will mark another year of record earnings and profitability." (cd)
